Goodbye, FTP!

I now officially have too little money left in my Full Tilt Poker account to play in any tournaments or sit at any tables.  Goodbye Full Tilt, it was fun watching you give me more bad beats than is logically possible.  Thanks for the 17% ITM rate, but not for the -46% ROI (how those two results exist for the same player is beyond me).

From The Forum:

A North Dakota program that distributes venison to the needy will only accept deer killed with arrows, over fears that firearm-shot meat may contain lead fragments.

The study was done after Dr. William Cornatzer, a Bismarck physician and hunter, alerted health officials last spring. He conducted his own tests on venison using a CT scanner and found lead in samples of donated deer meat.

Cornatzer’s findings spurred the state Heath Department to order food pantries in the state to throw out donated venison, saying it may have lead fragments. Other states followed with similar alerts.

Over at Capitalism Magazine, Walter Williams writes:

Congress produces nothing. Whatever Congress wishes to give, it has to first take other people’s money. Thus, at the root of the welfare state is the immorality of intimidation, threats and coercion backed up with the threat of violence by the agents of the U.S. Congress. In order for Congress to do what some Americans deem as good, it must first do evil. It must do that which if done privately would mean a jail sentence; namely, take the property of one American to give to another.

Preach on, brother!

FINALLY on Twitter

Call me old-fashioned, but it took me a long time to figure out any purpose for Twitter. I’m still not entirely sure what I’ll use it for, but today I signed up for an account. If you’re on Twitter, feel free to follow me. Drop me a line in the comments and if you’re interesting enough, I’ll do the same for you!

I really like the idea of text-messaging my current activities, but I’m not sure why anyone would really care what I’m doing at any given moment. I plan on trying it out for a few days/weeks to see if I can make it useful.
